Cordell Place is MCCH’s newest housing program, providing permanent supportive housing to formerly homeless individuals in an apartment building in downtown Bethesda. The building was converted from a half vacant office building to 32 Personal Living Quarters, including numerous green features. In addition to the fully furnished apartments there are four shared kitchens, a community room, and other amenities. Most of the residents will have a disability and long history of homelessness and require ongoing supportive services.
Services:
- Intensive on-site case management
- Recreational/social activities
- Subsidized housing
- Fully furnished living units
- Links to community resources
- Assistance in obtaining benefits and entitlements
Cordell Place, opened in 2010, was made possible by a partnership between MCCH, Coalition Homes, the Maryland and Montgomery County governments and the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development and represents our efforts to locate supportive housing throughout the county. It represents a milestone, in that it is MCCH’s first major program situated in a building owned and rehabilitated by Coalition Homes.
