Again this year, the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless (MCCH) has been selected as a beneficiary of Fannie Mae’s Help the Homeless Walkathon (HTH). This annual event, which raises awareness about homelessness in the Metropolitan area and funds to support essential programs serving the homeless, culminates in a 5K walk on the National Mall on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 22, 2008!

Our goal this year is to raise over $175,000 to support our programs serving homeless men, women and children and our efforts to prevent and end homelessness in Montgomery County.

You can help through the following ways:

1. WALKERS: Individual walkers can earmark their financial support for MCCH when they register. In addition, MCCH receives funds from walker-solicited pledge contributions. Click here to join Team MCCH, meet us at the “M” sign on the Mall, and walk with us to end homelessness in our community!

2. MINI-WALKS: Mini-Walkathons can be held throughout the fall at elementary and middle schools, community-based and faith-based organizations. These walks are a great way to engage people who might not be able to make it to the walk on the National Mall. Please contact Amy Kim at 301-217-0314 x24 for details.

3. GENERAL DONATIONS TO THE COALITION: Not able to join us for the Walk but still want to help? General donations can be made to MCCH through the Help the Homeless program by clicking here.

4. PARTNER SPONSORSHIPS with FANNIE MAE: Businesses and organizations can designate MCCH when becoming a HTH partner. Fannie Mae sponsorships begin with the Neighbor Partners level ($1,500) and range upward through the Hero's Circle Parners level ($100,000). As a reward for sponsorship, sponsors can take advantage of many promotional opportunities through HTH posters, signs, t-shirts, and advertisements. For more information, please click here or contact Amy Kim at 301-217-0314 x24.
